Repair Classes

SCC offers a Shop Class to teach you how to tune-up and maintain your bike, and includes one year’s co-op membership to use the shop and tools, with additional help as you need it. Retaking the class is free, and you can get “hand’s on” experience with more bikes on Apprentice Wednesdays.

Apprentice Evenings, Wednesdays 5–9pm

Come put into practice what you learn in our shop classes with the help of expert volunteers. We learn while we recycle bicycles and get them ready for re-sale to support our co-op.

Riding Classes

SCC wants to help you use your bicycle as much as possible, and offers instruction from riding in rush hour traffic to learning to balance on a bike for the first time. Skills training is offered to individuals and groups by a trained League Cycling Instructor (LCI). We offer regular Intro to Smart Cycling Classes on Saturdays. We can provide special programs for schools, businesses and other groups.

Intro to Smart Cycling, Saturdays followed by Social Ride

Once or twice a month our resident Cycling Instructor offers a class in basic traffic skills. This is about an hour of class instruction followed by a Social Ride where skills can be road tested while exploring some of the highlights of the greater Akron area. Call to register ahead of time.
